Student and employee data at California Northstate University was stolen
In a new AvosLocker registry, the threat actors are leaking personal information of California Northstate University students and employees.
As proof, AvosLocker released the 2022 W-2 statements for the college’s president and CEO, vice president and CFO, and job candidate information.
They also released a file with 393 W-2 forms for employees for 2022. W-2 forms are submitted to the IRS with the employees’ name, address, social security number, wages earned, amount of state tax deductions and other types of information. Such information is consumed by criminals looking to engage in tax refund fraud or identity theft. There is no notification on the university website about any cyber attack at this time.
